Japan Travelogue: Tokyo Day 2 (Ueno Park, Tokyo National Museum, Meiji Shrine and Shibuya)

10:48 PM

On our second day in Tokyo, we visited Ueno Park to see the Cherry Blossoms. We visited the temple, witnessed Hanami and ate a lot of food while we were there.

Took some pictures of the streets and, again, of the vending machines on our way to the train station.

Ueno Park is a great place to visit if you want to see the Cherry Blossoms during Spring because it's just within the city. There were a lot of people during this day because it was the day of the Cherry Blossoms' peak

Bonsai plants and flowers being sold at the park.

One of the pinkest Cherry Blossom Trees I've ever seen during our trip.

We also visited the temple inside this park and also did the ritual before entering.

There was a section/street full of food stalls at the other side of this park. It was so jam-packed but it was all worth it because there were a lot of really good, yummy street foods there!

Yummy candied strawberries for 300 yen a stick! This was so good, just don't convert haha!

These Doraemon and Hello Kitty waffles were also really good! One of my faves!

There was also another temple at the end of this street so that also contributed to the number of people at this side of the park.

You can also see some Cherry Blossoms on this side. We really enjoyed the view while eating our food.

After strolling and eating, we then proceeded to the Tokyo National Museum, which is already located near the park. Also, took some OOTD shots first before crossing the street to the museum.

Before heading there, we also bought Sakura ice cream from this mini food truck. For me, this didn't taste like anything in particular but I remember it having an Ube (Taro) aftertaste.

So pretty though!

There were a lot of activities inside the Tokyo National Museum so it was really worth visiting! I did the stamp challenge wherein you have to collect all 7 dry seal stamps from different galleries inside the museum. At the end, you can claim a pin with a Sakura or Spring themed design. There was also a postcard stamping room and a coloring area!

If you are going to visit the Tokyo National Museum be sure to also visit this serene park at the back.

After visiting the museum and completing some activities, we then decided to go to the Meiji Shrine then visit Shibuya after that.

Torri Gate at the main entrance of the Meiji Shrine.

The famous wall of Sake barrels.

Meiji Shrine Main Hall.

There was even a Shinto wedding procession/ceremony during this day and it was so cool to witness that too.

After visiting the shrine, we then decided to go to Shibuya to eat Ramen and shop. We also visited Hachiko's statue, which is in front of Shibuya station. However, someone else was stealing the limelight away from Hachiko haha! People were really cramming just to get a photo taken with this fat cat! So cute and fluffy! Kakagigil!

Shibuya is very lively and jam-packed even at night.

Shibuya 109 in the background.

Ate Ramen and Gyoza for dinner.

We really visited a lot of places on our second day in Tokyo but it didn't feel like we were cramming everything into one day. We did a lot of exploring, eating, activities in the museum and shopping but it didn't feel stressful or too much at all! It's also very nice that Japan is so picturesque! I love the fact that you can just take a snap of anything and it would still look picture perfect

We were able to take a lot of pictures but we also made sure that we took the time to appreciate the view and the place, along with all that it offers. I also really loved visiting Shibuya at night. The fun never stops in this place haha! I enjoyed this day, and loved everything we did and visited to bits!

If you missed the first day of our Japan trip be sure to check it out here. 😊
