Skincare Routine in 2020

7:38 PM

Sharing my skincare routine for the latter part of 2020 which I was supposed to post a few months back. Most of my favorite skincare products are from Thai and Korean brands. And, for the past years, I've been hearing a lot about the CosRx (Korean brand) skincare products that I decided to try it and see if it really lives up to the hype. I've also included other skincare products I've been using (some up until now) from other Korean brands in this post.

Disclaimer: I'm not in any way a skincare expert. Please take this post with a grain of salt as what worked for me may or may not work for you. Before trying the CosRx skincare products, I watched Lia Yooh's video about it first. You can check it out if you need a more knowledgeable advice. Please research, know your skin type or seek professional advice before delving into a new skincare product or routine especially if you have sensitive or acne-prone skin.

Here's the product line-up:

  • The Face Shop Herb Day Cleansing Cream in Green Tea - between P350-390
  • CosRx Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser (150ml) - P340
  • CosRx One Step Original Clear Pads (70 pads) - P610
  • CosRx AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner (150ml) - P490
  • CosRx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence (100ml) - P650
  • CosRx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream SPF 50 (50ml) - P490
  • It's Skin Power 10 Formula VC effector (30ml) - P350
  • AHC Ageless Real Eye Cream for Face (12ml) - P148

The Face Shop Herb Day Cleansing Cream in Green Tea

This is by far my favorite cleansing cream which was recommended to me by my cousin. This is very affordable and it lasted quite a long while on me. I love this because it removes my makeup really well and it turns from cream to oil as you gently rub it in your face. Just don't let it get into your eyes - it doesn't sting badly but it's quite a chore to remove afterwards.

CosRx Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser (150ml)

I'm not really a fan of this cleanser since I've noticed that my skin didn't really improve while using this. I've also noticed that when used alone (without any other skincare products after), my blackheads started reappearing out of nowhere haha!

CosRx One Step Original Clear Pads (70 pads)

I enjoyed using this product especially since I get acne every so often due to hormonal imbalance. I love this because it's like a dupe for the Cebatrol Oil Control Pads that I used to use as it was recommended as part of my skincare routine at the Belo Medical Clinic. But this one from CosRx is definitely way cheaper!

CosRx AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner (150ml)

I love this toner because it's really gentle on the skin as it doesn't sting at all! The only thing I'm not a fan of is the spray type bottle. Although I think it is really useful when you're in a hurry because you can just spritz it all over your face and spread it using a cotton pad afterwards.

CosRx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence (100ml)

This is another product that I love from CosRx. This doesn't feel heavy or sticky at all but it works pretty well in terms of keeping my face moisturized and quenched.

CosRx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream SPF 50 (50ml)

Another product I enjoyed from CosRx is this sunscreen. It has a tinge of green to it that eventually fades as you spread it all over your face. I think it helps brighten the face as it reminds me of my green tone up cream from The Face Shop. Another plus is that it also makes my face dewy!

It's Skin Power 10 Formula VC effector (30ml)

This works pretty well, for its price, in terms of brightening the face. But nothing still beats The Face Shop Dr. Belmeur Vita Serine Serum for me. I'd usually use this vitamin serum from It's Skin once a day, usually at night when I'm not using any products containing salicylic acid or AHA/BHA.

AHC Ageless Real Eye Cream for Face (12ml)

I haven't been using an eye cream for so long so I just wanted to buy an affordable one to add to my skincare routine. I'm not sure if this really works but so far it keeps my under eyes moisturized

I bought the CosRx products and the It's Skin VC effector from the beautipopshop. The cleansing cream I purchased at a local The Face Shop branch while I bought the AHC eye cream from beautynthefit.ph.
