#ProductiveMonday: 6 PRODUCTIVITY TIPS | How I stay productive when I'm unmotivated (Free PDF)

9:00 AM

I'm back with another #ProductiveMonday post again after a very very long while haha! This was supposed to go up last Monday, June 21, but I was suddenly scheduled the night before for my very first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine so I wasn't able to finish this on time. If you want to see what happened during my vaccination day & how things turned out then head over HERE to check out my latest vlog on it! I also did a Youtube video on these Productivity Tips which you can see HERE or at the end of this post! 😊

If you've ever been stuck on a rut - days when you're too lazy and unmotivated to do anything - then you know how hard it is to actually get out of it and be productive once again. I've had my fair share of those days and because of that I've developed a plan and process through out the years to help me deal with it

Here are 6 Productivity Tips that has helped me stay productive whenever I feel unmotivated! Hope this helps you too! 😁

TIP #1: WAKE UP EARLY (OR EARLIER THAN USUAL).

Waking up early has really helped me a lot since it gives me a good head start. Because of that I get to do more things, as I have more time, compared with when I wake up late. If you’re not a morning person, then you can practice waking up earlier than usual from time to time so that you don’t subject yourself to more stress that will just make you more unproductive. Setting up an alarm would also help as a start!

TIP #2: CREATE A ROUTINE. ⌚

Having a routine in the morning helps set my day. It could be as simple as having a proper breakfast, taking an early shower and even meditating or having quiet time. I don't know why but even tasks like doing a skincare routine, putting on makeup or working out helps me feel like I'm ready to start my day. I think it's also because it helps my mind wake up and recognize that it’s already the start of a brand new day - that I have to start moving to do things.

TIP #3: ORGANIZE YOUR WORK SPACE. 🧹

This is one of the things that has really helped me a lot through out the years. I find that it always works for me especially during days when I feel so unmotivated and lazy to even start my day. Cleaning my working space before I even start my tasks for the day helps me focus on what I should do because I’m not too preoccupied with the any clutter or things surrounding me. And, as they say (it goes something like this haha), “A clear space equals a clear mind.”

TIP #4: PLAN AHEAD & STICK TO YOUR SCHEDULE. 📆

Plan ahead and set up your schedule whether it's before you start your day or even a day, a week or a month before. Do whichever works for you. For me, I find that planning before the month starts has really been helpful as I get a clear direction in terms of what is expected of me or what tasks I need to do & accomplish way ahead of time. That way I don't get surprised or overwhelmed. It also helps be more mindful and aware if I allot a time before I start my day to check my schedule or tasks notebook.

Planning will also take a whole lot of stress off your back as having everything organized and jotted down frees your mind for more things.

TIP #5: COMMIT TO TASKS THAT ARE REASONABLE OR DOABLE FOR THE DAY ONLY. 📚🖋

Do not overcommit to tasks that you know you won’t be able to do or accomplish within the day anyway - more so if you’re not on a rush or on a deadline. Only commit to tasks that are reasonable or doable and that you're sure you'll be able to accomplish within the day. Writing down tasks also helps whether electronically or in a simple notebook. In the past, I’d find myself committing to tasks that are too much for a single day. I realized that having a realistic list of tasks is far better than committing to too much, just so that you'll feel better that you have a lot to do, then end up not doing much at all.

I find that having specific tasks that are reasonable for the day helps you become more focused, determined & productive. Doing so will also help you avoid unnecessary stress in the future. Putting your schedule, important tasks or events somewhere you can see right a way (e.g. on your Mood Board) can also help you become more mindful of your time.

TIP #6: KNOW WHEN TO REST. 🖥🎧

Sounds ironic, right? But knowing when to rest will really help your body in the long run. This isn’t limited to just taking a nap or sleeping. But it also means taking a 10-15 min. break between tasks whenever you need it. It can also mean doing things you enjoy such as, reading a good book, binge-watching on Netflix or Youtube, taking a walk, listening to your favorite podcast or Spotify playlist, and even doing other hobbies you're currently into!

Listening to your body and knowing when to slow down will really go a long way if you want to be productive and to feel motivated again😉
